Eurotrip

Holla! What's up guys?
Cary's here with an update. It's a bit long so bare with me :D

I've made Bee and Viv a little worried the other day with my sudden disappearance. LOL! I was on a trip with my fiance and his little sister to Europe. It was so sudden and I got overly excited that I forgot to tell ANYONE that I was going on a trip *my bad* it was like a dream for me going to these beautiful cities. So anyway, we went on 10 days trip to Istanbul, Portugal and Madrid. I took thousands of pictures (by that I mean THOUSANDS! seriously, I have to buy extra memory cards there coz I ran out of memories so easily).
Lets be fair, I can't put all the photos here, so here are some of the highlights.

30 minutes transit in Singapore.
Thousands of pictures can't really expressed how amazing these cities were. Our first stop is Istanbul, to be honest I was under estimate this city at first. I mean like "why we're going to Istanbul, pfftt..." kind of. But it was like a slap in the face when I saw how puuhrreetyy it was! The local people are really nice and friendly as well, and the girls are really pretty :)
Finally arrive in Istanbul after a long 12 hours flight from Singapore

It was 4 degree at 7AM. Luckily we've come prepared. We were tired, sleep deprive, but nothing can stop us from taking pictures, lots of them. We even ignored our tour leader. haha.

oh.. by the way. I broke my boots in Istanbul =.="

After staying in Istanbul for 2 nights, our next stop is Lisboa in Portugal. It's a 4 hours flight from Istanbul to Lisbon, it's a little warmer than Istanbul.

our funny tour leader Pak Bambang :)

Church of Holy Trinity in Fatima - Portugal

Christo Rei - Portugal. it's the duplicate of the Christ's statue in Rio.

25th April Bridge in Lisbon (San Fransisco Bridge's twin :p )

Porto

We're kinda missed Indonesian food, I'm not a fan of the local food what I like though is the Piri-Piri sauce! (not Nando's Peri-Peri) is Piri-Piri. it's some kind like hot chilli oil, so I put it on everything I eat! bring the spice!! hahah.

Say goodbye to Portugal we went on another road trip to Espana~~

I'm a fan of European architectural, and Salamanca has it all. We have a short visit to Salamanca - Spain, we stayed for a night before continuing our trip to Madrid in the morning. Salamanca has a beautiful architectural and the most memorable place is La Plaza Mayor! it was so romantic at night, yet so classy in the evening.

love this place, la plaza mayor - Salamanca

La Plaza Mayor at night
ohh... have I told you that our bus driver is soo cute? *love struck* theehee..

The very last city on the tour list was Madrid! We had a grand tour to Palace de Madrid, it was soo sooo beautiful and so royale! too bad we're not allowed to took pictures inside, if not I'll go crazy taking pictures of every inch of the detail!

We were so lucky coz on the day of our arrival, there's a soccer match between Madrid vs. Moscow at the Stadium of Bernabeu. My fiance were sooo excited (like kid holding cotton candy) he dragged me and his little sister to watch the game together, it was a new kind of feeling even though I don't really like soccer, but being in the stadium make me excited in a way.

we've got the ticket! yay!

dinner before the game. (fiance name is Ronaldo FYI. lol)

Christiano Ronaldo in a flesh!!
And QUATTRO - UNO for Madrid!!

So we leave soccer aside, now it's time for some girls time. Shopping spree!!

Carrousel!!! wheeee~~

All the good things must come to an end, it was such a short trip and I really want to come and visit Europe again, for much longer time. There's so much to see and explore. Even though the kind of Europe I've always wanted to visit is Barcelona, France, and Milan but been to Turkey, Portugal and Madrid was a bliss for me as well.

So if you were planning your holiday to Europe, I recommended you to visit these places too, it's beautiful, lovely, breathtaking, and so peaceful. If you do have a planning to visit this place here's a little words of advice:
  • be prepared! you need to check the weather first!
  • you'll do much walking, so bring your most comfortable shoes (be fashionable for photoshooting, but always wears for comfort!) and always always have a back up!
  • learn some basic spanish (toilet, thank you, etc.) coz 90% of the people can't speak English! Seriously, My fiance spent hours looking for public toilet in Salamanca coz no one understand what he's talking about, later we found out from our tour leader toilet/restroom called 'Aseos/Servicios'. and I learnt to say ... uno agua! when ask for water. LOL! they understand me, that's all that matter ;p
  • Make sure you have decent space in your camera (bring memory cards!)
  • Enjoy the ride but be careful, watch your belongings. Do not leave your stuff unattended anywhere, close your bags and make sure to keep any valuable items close to you.
  • Last but not least have some FUN!

adios!

So obrigado, gracias for your time.
God bless.
